通常,沙爹魚是用體積比較小的金線魚或是白帶魚制成。洗清潔後的魚,將會放在空地上晒至兩天以上,直至乾透為止。然後就會放進機器里把它壓扁。壓扁的魚乾,將染上腌料,然後放進烘爐里烘至35分鐘,待涼後,就以人工包裝及機器封口。看似很簡單的製作過程,其實卻動用了不少人手。或釦A不知道每一小片魚乾,都是用人手把它放進機器里壓扁。雖然是很簡單的“眼見功夫”,可是卻花上很多人力和時間。
